Welcome to Meatco Kenya ("Meatco", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Meatco website, mobile applications, services, and any orders placed through our platform.

By accessing our website or placing an order with Meatco, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Meatco Kenya is an online meat and grocery delivery service operating within Nairobi, Kenya.

2. Eligibility

To place an order with Meatco, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements;
  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration and checkout.

We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend accounts, or cancel orders where false information is provided or where fraudulent activity is suspected.


3. Service Area

Meatco currently delivers within Nairobi, Kenya.

We may add, modify, or remove delivery areas at our sole discretion without prior notice.

Orders placed outside our service area may be cancelled and refunded.


4. Product Information

We strive to ensure that product descriptions, images, weights, prices, and availability are accurate.

However:

  • Product images are for illustration purposes only;
  • Packaging may vary;
  • Product availability may change without notice;
  • Minor differences in size, appearance, or packaging may occur.

If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we may contact you regarding a replacement, store credit, refund, or order adjustment.


5. Pricing

All prices displayed on Meatco are in Kenyan Shillings (KES).

Displayed prices may include promotional discounts and special offers.

Once an order has been successfully confirmed, the price paid at checkout shall remain binding and will not be affected by subsequent price changes.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, typographical mistakes, or technical inaccuracies.


6. Payments

Meatco accepts the following payment methods:

  • M-PESA Online Payments
  • Debit Cards
  • Credit Cards
  • Cash on Delivery
  • M-PESA on Delivery
  • Meatco Wallet Credits

Orders may be subject to verification and fraud prevention checks.

If a payment is successfully processed but the order cannot be fulfilled, Meatco will contact the customer and offer either:

  • A direct refund; or
  • Store credit in the customer's Meatco Wallet.

The customer may choose their preferred option.


7. Order Acceptance

Your order is considered accepted only after Meatco confirms the order and begins processing it.

We reserve the right to reject or cancel any order due to:

  • Product unavailability;
  • Pricing errors;
  • Fraud concerns;
  • Operational limitations;
  • Delivery restrictions;
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

8. Delivery

Meatco offers delivery services within Nairobi.

Delivery times provided at checkout are estimates and may vary due to:

  • Traffic conditions;
  • Weather;
  • Road closures;
  • Security situations;
  • Operational delays;
  • High order volumes.

While we strive to meet all estimated delivery windows, we do not guarantee exact delivery times.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and ensuring someone is available to receive the order.


9. Scheduled and Express Orders

Meatco may offer both Scheduled Delivery and Express Delivery options.

Orders begin processing shortly after placement.

Customers may request cancellation of either Scheduled or Express orders at any time.

Where an order has already been packed, dispatched, or delivered, Meatco may determine the appropriate refund, replacement, or credit remedy based on the circumstances.


10. Returns

Customers may request a return within 24 hours of delivery.

To be eligible for review, customers must submit sufficient evidence through Meatco's complaint process, including clear photographs and relevant order details.

Returns may be declined where:

  • Products have been consumed;
  • Products have been improperly stored after delivery;
  • Evidence is insufficient;
  • The issue falls outside Meatco's responsibility.

Each return request is reviewed individually.


11. Complaints and Product Quality Issues

If a customer receives:

  • Incorrect products;
  • Damaged products;
  • Spoiled products; or
  • Products that do not reasonably match the order,

the customer should submit a complaint through the Meatco platform as soon as possible and include supporting photographs.

After review, Meatco may provide:

  • Store credit;
  • Product replacement;
  • Direct refund; or
  • Another appropriate resolution.

The chosen remedy will depend on the circumstances of the complaint and the evidence provided.


12. Refunds

Approved refunds may be issued as:

  • Meatco Wallet Credit; or
  • Direct monetary refund.

Where wallet credit is offered, the credited amount may be used toward future purchases on Meatco.

Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment method used.


13. Customer Accounts

Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.

You agree to:

  • Keep your login details secure;
  • Notify Meatco of unauthorized account activity;
  • Ensure account information remains accurate and current.

Meatco is not responsible for losses arising from unauthorized access caused by the customer's failure to secure their account.


14. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Meatco for unlawful purposes;
  • Submit fraudulent orders;
  • Attempt to interfere with platform operations;
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content;
  • Misrepresent identity or payment information.

Violation of these requirements may result in account suspension or termination.


15. Commercial Use

Meatco products may be purchased for personal or commercial use.

Customers remain responsible for ensuring compliance with any applicable laws, regulations, licenses, or food handling requirements related to their business activities.


16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meatco's total liability for any claim arising from an order, product, service, or platform use shall not exceed the amount paid for the affected order.

Meatco shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect losses;
  • Consequential damages;
  • Loss of profits;
  • Loss of business opportunities;
  • Delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.

17. Force Majeure

Meatco shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters;
  • Government actions;
  • Civil unrest;
  • Internet outages;
  • Transportation disruptions;
  • Utility failures.

18. Intellectual Property

All content on the Meatco platform, including text, graphics, logos, product images, software, and branding, remains the property of Meatco Kenya or its licensors.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.


19. Changes to These Terms

Meatco may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

Updated versions will be published on the Meatco website together with the revised effective date.

Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
